The Adventures of Odd Socks the Cuddly Toy Dog and Friends – Odd Socks and Co do the Teddy Bear Zipwire Challenge

"Hey, listen up Fellow cuddlies" Calls out Odd Socks the cuddly toy dog.

"What is it?" Reply the other cuddly toys.

"It's Mommy Sarah's church" Says Odd Socks

"Mommy Sarah's church?" enquire the cuddlies

"Yes, it's St John's Methodist in Llandudno town and I've heard Mommy Sarah talking about it" Says Odd Socks

"So" say the cuddlies

"It's the church spire and tower" says Odd Socks "It's been damaged by the stormy weather and needs to be repaired."

"So!" ask the cuddlies

"Mommy Sarah has heard that it's going cost lots and lots of money for the repairs" says Odd Socks

"Odd Socks, we're cuddly toys so what can we do about it?"

"Well" explained Odd Socks "I've heard Mommy Sarah talking and I've also read the church newsletter and the layworkers Hayley and Liz are organising a Teddy Bear zipwire challenge down the church tower"

"Odd Socks, you said Teddy Bear zipwire challenge but we're not all Teddy Bears." replied the cuddlies.

"Oh" says Odd Socks "It's not just for Teddy Bears, any cuddly toy can do it!"

"Odd Socks" says Dylan the Little Grey Teddy Bear "I'm too small to do it"

"I am as well" says Cory the Corgi and Dylan's best friend.

Several of the other cuddly toys come up with various reasons not to do it including I don't like heights as the cuddlies had heard that the tower is very high.

"Molly?" asks Odd Socks

"Yes" says Molly Monkey "I'll do it and I'll see if I can persuade Kathy Bear and Valentine Bear as well"

"Ok" says Odd Socks

"I'll do it" pipes up Davy who looks a bit like a cabbage doll "If Molly's doing it then I'll do it"

Kathy Bear and Valentine Bear also agree to do it.

"Odd Socks, how will we get there?" asks Molly

"Oh yes" replied Odd Socks "Mammy Madge has said she will take us in her trolley.

"Ok" says Molly

It's Saturday 23rd August 2025 and the day of The Teddy Bear zipwire challenge has arrived. Mommy Sarah carefully places Odd Socks, Davy, Molly, Kathy and Valentine into Mammy Madge's trolley and off they go with Mammy Madge on the bus into town. On the journey into town the cuddlies have a discussion on which order they will do it and they decide that Odd Socks will go first then Davy, Kathy, Molly and Valentine.

They arrive at St John's and Mommy Sarah takes the cuddlies out of the trolley one by one. First she passes Odd Socks to Hayley and Liz who put him in an harness, they then pass him to one of the volunteers from the Climbing Wall who puts Odd Socks onto a wire and he gets pulled up to the top of the tower, where another volunteer takes him off and puts him the zipwire. There is a count of three and Odd Socks makes his descent. He's then followed by Davy, Kathy, Molly and Valentine.

Once they have made their descent Hayley and Liz present the cuddlies with a certificate to say they've done the zipwire challenge and hand the cuddlies back to Mommy Sarah who gives them a cuddle and Mommy Sarah said "Well done, you brave cuddlies" before placing them back into Mammy Madge's trolley for the journey back home.
