I was born in Romiley, near Stockport (then in Cheshire). I went to university to get a degree in Chemistry and find a husband (successful on both counts). I found Mark in JWS (the John Wesley Society or Jolly Wedding Society, depending on how you look at it). Mark went to work in East Grinstead, West Sussex, so when we got married (three weeks after I left college), I moved south to join him and began work in the centre of London, working in sales for IBM, the computer people. We went to the wonderful Methodist Church in East Grinstead, became local preachers, grew in the Spirit and raised our two children there. Eventually, despite my best efforts at avoiding the issue, God decided that I was going to become a minister and I trained part time, while still at work full time. In 2006 I was stationed as a probationer minister in Blackpool, one of my childhood family day trips, and ordained from there in 2008. I stayed for six years then moved here to Llandudno, North Wales, another of my childhood holiday destinations. It seems that God wants me to specialise in seaside towns. I am not complaining about that! I have been minister of the two Methodist churches in Llandudno since 2012 and am stationed here till summer 2022.
The photo is of me dressed as Edith Cavell for the outdoor Sunday service at Llandudno's May Extravaganza weekend.
