St John's Methodist Church, Conwy, Seeks Lay Community Worker
St John's Methodist Church in Conwy is inviting applications for the role of Lay Community Worker, a position aimed at helping to build an intergenerational church with strong ties to the wider community, particularly involving children and families at its heart.

The successful candidate will join the leadership team and minister to play a leading role in the life of the church community. This is a fixed-term post of three years, with the possibility of extension subject to review and funding.

Role Details

• Base: St John's Methodist Church, Conwy
• Hours: 30-40 hours per week (to be agreed with the candidate)
• Salary: £24,000-£32,000 (depending on hours agreed)
• Reporting to: Minister with pastoral charge
• Closing date: Midnight, Thursday 14 August
• Interviews: Tuesday 26 August (afternoon)

Requirements
Applicants must be committed and practising Christians with an understanding of Methodism. They should be able to work independently as well as part of a team, be trained (or willing to train) in safeguarding and risk assessment, and have the flexibility to work varied hours. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to people of all ages are essential, as is relevant experience in a similar role. An Enhanced DBS disclosure and barring check will be required.
