Dear Friends,

September is a time for new starts and we have two new interns to introduce to you. We also have two job vacancies within our team and are looking forward to finding the right people to join us – please help us get the word out or even consider applying yourself!

Many of you may have been surprised by the Prime Minister's announcement on Wednesday regarding a new approach to reaching net zero. You can read our Churches' response now and also an excellent blog on the politics behind climate change from Hannah Furse

We believe that it is possible to turn the page on poverty in the UK for good. We will be celebrating the launch of the new Let's End Poverty movement in a few weeks' time and we invite you to join in through prayer, conversation and action.

JPIT exists to help our Churches work together for peace and justice through listening, learning, praying, speaking and acting on public policy issues. We always welcome hearing your insight and experience around justice-seeking challenges, and really appreciate you letting us know when you encounter good news too! Please don't forget to pray with us: our short, daily prayers for justice and peace are available on Facebook, Twitter and by email. (See jpit.uk/stayandpray)

In all that is new to you in this season, may the abiding presence of God sustain you each day.
