This year's OPP, Megan Borges, is running a campaign backed by Momentwm called 'Hope In A £10 Note.'
The vision for this campaign is to encourage and support young people (around the ages of 8 – 18) of Wales to bring hope to their churches, locality, or community – and all of it starts with just a tenner!
Each project will be led by local youth workers/ministers who will be overseeing the projects, managing the funds, communicating updates regularly with Momentwm, as well as offering support to their young people as they take on the #10PoundHope challenge.
The scheme is very flexible and can be tailored to fit the youth group: – Every YP has a tenner – Either with the challenge to make it grow (like the parable of the talents).
This money is then donated to a church or charity – OR the challenge to bring joy to their community (e.g. buying flowers for a local care home, buying litter picking equipment, etc.) – The local youth group pools their tenners together e.g. buys a planter and some flowers for outside the local church -The youth group decides to see just how much then can do with a single tenner between them all.
'The only rule is that each £10 note must be used in a creative way to make a difference, spread kindness, and bring hope!
The official launch date is the 17th of April at the Big Day In and the end date is the 1st of November, 2021.
